I believe we all have an innate capacity for
growth and change.
Although change is hard, doing it alone
can be even harder.

Jennifer Birner LMFT

Hello, I'm Jennifer Birner

For 14 years, I have been helping people better understand themselves, work through what is keeping them stuck, and move toward a greater sense of peace and well-being. I use a holistic approach to therapy that weaves together the many interrelated parts of the person (biological, emotional, cognitive, relational, cultural and spiritual).

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and draws from depth and psychodynamic psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. I also integrate the insights of attachment theory, parts work or Internal Family Systems, and neuroscience. This allows me to look beyond symptoms alone and consider the deeper patterns, experiences, relationships, and unconscious processes that may be shaping your life. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with each client to create a highly personalized experience, drawing on the perspectives and tools that are most meaningful and helpful for them.

What has continued to draw me to this work over the years is the opportunity to understand what lies beneath the surface of what people are experiencing. I am genuinely curious about the complexity of each person: their history, relationships, inner world, and the ways they have learned to navigate life. I believe that meaningful change often begins with being deeply understood and developing a clearer understanding of ourselves. My role is not simply to help you feel better, but to help you understand yourself more fully so that you can make choices that feel more authentic and create a life that is genuinely your own.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California and Georgia. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. I have a deep love for the field of psychology and continually expand my knowledge and expertise through professional training and workshops. I am a member of the CG Jung Society of Atlanta, and have co-facilitated a book group for fellow therapists since 2017.

Most important of all
I feel honored and fulfilled to be a part of my client’s path, and witness their process and growth.
I am so grateful to do the work that I love.
